From May 2–6, 2025, the Synaptiq team had the pleasure of participating in the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) Congress in Vienna. This premier event brought together professionals from across the globe to discuss advancements in radiation oncology, and we were thrilled to be part of the conversation.
Article Summary
Introducing Our GTV Contouring Tool
At our booth, we presented our latest innovation: the Gross Tumor Volume (GTV) contouring tool, a feature of our Mediq RT platform. Designed to streamline the contouring process, this tool allows clinicians to delineate a single slice of the GTV, after which our AI completes the remaining contours within seconds. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees highlighting the tool’s potential to enhance efficiency and accuracy in treatment planning.
Hands-On Experience and Immediate Access
Understanding the importance of firsthand experience, we offered on-the-spot demo accounts to visitors interested in exploring our platform further. This initiative allowed clinicians to test the tool’s capabilities in real-time, fostering deeper engagement and insightful discussions about its application in various clinical settings.
Expanding Our Network
ESTRO 2025 also provided an excellent opportunity to connect with potential distributors. We’re excited about the new partnerships formed during the conference, which will help us bring our solutions to a broader audience and support more healthcare providers in delivering optimal patient care.
Contributing to Scientific Discourse
Our commitment to advancing the field was further demonstrated through the presentation of four scientific abstracts at the conference. These contributions covered various aspects of AI integration in radiotherapy, reflecting our ongoing research and development efforts. Our work can be found in the ESTRO Abstract Book:
- The impact of AI-driven templates in brachytherapy practice [p. 283]
- Enhanced Efficiency in GTV Delineation: Evaluating AI ‘Active Contouring’ Tool [p. 2558]

- Explainable AI for deep learning-based markerless lung tumor tracking [p. 3246]
Looking Ahead
Participating in ESTRO 2025 was an inspiring experience that reinforced our dedication to innovation and collaboration in radiation oncology. We’re grateful for the meaningful conversations, valuable feedback, and new connections made during the event. As we continue to develop and refine our solutions, we look forward to contributing to future discussions and advancements in the field.
