Synaptiq Secures €103,000 Grant from Innovation Norway for their AI software for Radiotehrapy

December 20, 2023 News

In a significant milestone for Synaptiq, we are delighted to announce that we have received an additional grant of €103,000 from Innovation Norway. This boost in funding is a testament to the strides we have made in the development of our groundbreaking auto-contouring software for radiotherapy, and it will propel us even further toward our mission of optimizing radiotherapy treatment.

Our journey thus far has been marked by dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment to improving cancer treatment. At Synaptiq, we have been focusing on developing AI SaaS solutions to enhance radiotherapy treatment. Our software automates the delineation of organs at risk, streamlining the treatment planning process for medical professionals.

It’s worth noting that this €103,000 grant from Innovation Norway is not our first collaboration. We have previously received a grant of €158,000 from Innovation Norway, and both grants play a pivotal role in advancing our product development and supporting our startup journey.

The first grant helped us achieve some significant milestones on the technical part, on the deployment of our product in hospitals, on the certification, and on visibility.

  • From a technical standpoint, we currently boast a fully operational software capable of contouring organs-at-risk across various cancer sites, including Head and neck, Thorax, Abdomen, and Pelvis. What sets us apart is our AI-based solution, which can contour most structures with human expert-level accuracy.
  • Currently, we are actively testing our product in several clinics in Romania, and actively seeking feedback to refine further and enhance our software. This invaluable input from medical professionals is crucial as we strive to make our product even more user-friendly and effective.
  • In addition to our technical progress, we have also made significant strides in the product certification process. To ensure the highest quality and regulatory compliance, we have appointed a Quality and Regulatory Manager who is dedicated to ensuring that our software meets the rigorous standards required for clinical use. We are now gearing up for the final steps in the certification process.

The recent grant of €103,000 from Innovation Norway is a major stepping stone in our journey. This funding will be pivotal in further developing our auto-contouring software. Specifically, we plan to implement functionalities based on the valuable feedback we have received from our users, addressing their needs and preferences. Our focus will include adding more organs at risk to our list and significantly enhancing the accuracy of contours.

Synaptiq is poised for a future filled with promise and innovation. With the support of Innovation Norway and our unwavering commitment to revolutionizing radiotherapy treatment, we are one step closer to making a significant impact on cancer care.

Stay tuned for more updates on our journey towards a brighter, healthier future.
